Statement

an artist freehand painting in art studio of large scale geometric painting

“"Yet, as one comes closer, a revelation unfolds: imperceptible brushstrokes and the subtle irregularities of the human hand. The essence of artistry is found here—in the intimate marks that affirm the connection between creator and creation.” - John Diehl (b.1982)

My work is a relentless pursuit of precision and endurance, where traditional craftsmanship meets contemporary expression. At its core is a creative practice of geometry, symmetry, and balance.

Rooted in Geometric Formalism, my large-scale, freehand geometric paintings are a trial of endurance—with a process that is both grueling and exhilarating. I build my own canvases, immersing myself in every stage of creation, ensuring that every piece is not just a visual statement, but a physical one.

My creative practice extends beyond the painted surface. Through The Arcwright Project, I have pioneered Lightcasting—an orchestration of luminous orbits, where movement, timing, and structure shape ephemeral light into precise geometric form. Luminography serves as its record, capturing halos that interact with my paintings, preserving the kinetic geometry of light.

By integrating these structured halos with my paintings, I create a dialogue between the physical and the intangible, the permanent and the fleeting. Whether in The Flamingo Project’s nomadic installations or in the engineered halos over my canvases, my work exists in a space of tension — between control and chaos.
